My name is Carole and I have been consistently feeding hummingbirds for 8 years here at my home in Studio City, California, USA.
I am on a quest to photograph every single hummingbird species on the planet! There are over 350 types and I currently have photographed about 200 of them.

I Spent Three Days Searching for this HUMMINGBIRD
We spent three days looking for the elusive Buff-thighed Puffleg and ended up finding him on Manu Road on our way to the next lodge. This hummingbird is not found feeding on hummingbird feeders, so you have to be lucky to spot one by the side of the road. He is mostly green and nondescript except for his beautiful buff-colored puffs on his legs.

What kind of special food?
This is so precious, I love hummingbirds
I have two chicks in my yard I've been watching since they were in their eggs. Judging from this video I guess they are 2.5-3 weeks old now (I wasn't keeping track of the time). I was concerned at one point I wasn't seeing the mother enough. They seem ok and I do see her feeding them occasionally, but she doesn't hang around.
